How to make a clay Maple leaf necklace and earrings

Written by The Glam Bijoux

Here’s the list of materials we’ll be using to create a maple leaf necklace and earrings:
- Hearty Clay in white and orange
- Maple leaf flower pro mould
- Brown, yellow, orange, and red powdered pigments
- Mini hypoallergenic steel base
- Hypoallergenic steel chain
- Brown tiger’s eye gemstones
- Necklace clasp
- Earring hooks
- Clear glue
- Hair lacquer and varnish
- Brushes
Here’s a step 1:
Place two white clay balls of size 1 and two orange clay balls of size 7 into the clay measuring cavity. Mix them together to create a creamy colour, which will serve as the base for our maple leaves.
Here’s a step 2:
Place a size 11 clay ball into the maple leaf mould cavity. To make this process easier, you can roll the clay into a sausage shape, cut it into three pieces, and then insert one piece into each cavity of the mold. Next, gently use your fingers or a makeup sponge to stretch and pressing the clay until it fills the cavity, ensuring that there are no gaps or excess clay outside the mould. Once filled, press down using the textured part of the leaf mould to add realistic details to the leaf.
To create the earrings, you’ll need two clay balls of size 6 from the clay measuring tool. Place these clay balls into the small leaf-shaped mould cavity and repeat the process we used to make the pendant leaf for the necklace. Make two small leaves following the same steps.

Here’s a step 3:
After removing the maple leaf pendant and the earring leaves from the mold cavities, gently shape the edges of the leaves using a clay tool or a ballpoint pen. Then, allow them to dry on a flower formed for approximately 3 hours in a dry area.
Here’s a step 4:
Once the leaves are completely dry, it’s time to paint them. To do this, we’ll use powdered colours. Begin by mixing yellow with a touch of brown to achieve a mustard colour. Apply this mustard colour to the center of the leaves, leaving the edges for the orange and red colours. Blend the orange and red colours together to create a natural and realistic autumn leaf hue.
Here’s a step 5:
After painting the leaves, apply hair lacquer to enhance the colors and allow them to dry for a few seconds. Next, assemble the necklace with the tiger’s eye gemstones and the earring hooks.
Attach the hypoallergenic steel base to the tip of the leaf, add the chain, and then attach the earring hooks. This completes a stunning jewelry set that will make you look beautiful during the autumn season.
